Blog Posts

I created a blog in 2015 for a class project. This blog is all about Syracuse basketball. I had fun and enjoyed this project as it allowed me to develop a different writing style than I was use to. Below is one of the blog posts I wrote from this blog. To see the rest of my blog posts, please click on the link below:

Revenge is Sweet

February 12, 2015

Revenge. In sports, revenge is motivational. When a team comes into your house and embarrasses you on your home hardwood, you want to get even. Tonight, the Syracuse Orange enacted revenge against the Boston College Eagles. I enjoyed every moment of it!

‘Cuse nation! I hope everyone is doing well. The above segment is my rant about the win tonight! I was so pleased to finally exercise the demons and beat BC twice in the same season on the hardwood! We all remember the epic collapse last year which allowed our final four hopes to crumble before our eyes. Many don’t remember, however, that the downward spiral began with the loss at home to BC last year.

Let me jog your memory. Syracuse was 25-0. Syracuse was the undisputed number one ranked team in the country. Led by freshman magic in Tyler Ennis, Syracuse was a force. Boston College was 2-10 in the ACC, and was one of the worst teams in the country. The game shouldn’t have even been close. However, Boston College rallied in the final minutes to tie the game, and the game headed to overtime. In the final five minutes, Syracuse was upset 62-59 leading to Syracuse losing four out of the last six, and being upset in the NCAA tournament by the Dayton Flyers. You don’t know how painful it is for me to write this. Amazingly, we literally grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory. Indescribable and unfathomable. How do you feel about that epic collapse last year? Is it also still painful for you to think about? Let me know about it in the comments.

Anyways, we can rejoice! We have enacted final revenge by beating BC twice this season! Also, with the recruiting classes and depth we will have in the near future, BC shouldn’t beat us in the next few years! Now we can focus all our energy on the true enemy, the Duke Blue Devils. I look forward to being with 35 thousand of my friends in the Dome this Saturday! What do you think the score will be? Please let me know in the comments! The person who is closest to the actual score will receive an official “Revenge is Sweet” orange t-shirt! Happy guessing!
